A Brief History of Runes
Runes are ancient alphabetic symbols used by Germanic and Nordic peoples from around 150-800 CE. The word "rune" comes from the Old Norse word "rún," meaning "secret" or "mystery." Beyond their use as a writing system, runes were believed to hold magical properties and were used for divination, protection, and spiritual guidance. The Elder Futhark is the oldest runic alphabet, consisting of 24 characters. Modern rune sets include a 25th blank stone called Wyrd (or Odin's Rune), representing fate, the unknowable, and infinite possibilities.
Vesuvianite is believed to:
- Banish negative thought patterns and self-doubt
- Clarify goals and strengthen willpower
- Dissolve anger and create inner security
- Encourage enthusiasm and courage
- Enhance creativity and self-expression
- Open the heart to joy and gratitude
- Promote spiritual growth and transformation
- Release fear and embrace change
- Stimulate the higher mind and intuition
- Support emotional healing and balance
CRYSTAL CARE
Cleansing: Smudge with sage, place under moonlight, or use sound cleansing with a singing bowl. Avoid water as it may damage the carved symbols. Charging: Place in moonlight overnight or on a selenite charging plate.
