Kingman turquoise holds a rich heritage as the oldest known American turquoise, discovered by Native peoples of the Southwestern United States over a millennium ago. This stone was central to their jewelry traditions, with ancient tools like stone hammers uncovered in the mine’s historic tunnels in 1962. Today, the Kingman mine in Arizona, managed by the Colbaugh family, remains the sole active commercial turquoise mine in the U.S. The Colbaugh Processing method stabilizes the turquoise by infusing epoxy, enhancing its color and durability for cutting and polishing. Valued for its metaphysical qualities, Kingman turquoise is believed to provide protection, improve communication, and support spiritual growth. It is revered in Native American culture as a sacred stone symbolizing the sky, water, and natural harmony.
The vial is 12-14mm tall (1.25 cm).
